Momentous
I was fortunate enough to be attached to a team of senior Iwi Liaison Officers that worked along side organisers of the 2004 hikoi regarding the controversial foreshore and seabed bill. Together we managed to facilitate the movements of thousands of people from Te Rerenga Wairua to Whanganui-ā-Tara without incident. It was a momentous moment to see approx 40,000 people on the footsteps of Parliament as they carried the kaupapa for all Māori... Māori police included.
