Easy Rider

I’m currently a Senior Constable supervising a traffic section in Christchurch.

On Wednesday I am flying to Wellington to uplift a BMW patrol motorcycle. I am one of four officers who will then ride to Invercargill and escort the Powernet Cycle Tour of Southland. We will ride the bikes back to Christchurch via Haast Pass and Arthur’s Pass, and take part in a parade commemorating the 120th anniversary of the Police in New Zealand. We will then ride the bikes back to Wellington.

A two-week paid motorcycle tour of the South Island. Variety is one reason I love this job, the other is opportunities. There’s no other job like this.
