Burglary
On early shift, I was assigned to take a routine burglary complaint that had occurred during the previous night shift. An alarm had gone off at one of the offices in the hospital during the night. A smash and grab had occurred and a computer was stolen.
There I was in the office doing my crime scene investigation, looking through the broken window four hours after the burglary was discovered, when lo and behold I saw a male about 100 metres away, walking out of some bushes carrying a computer. I ran out, chased him, and after about two minutes I caught him. The burglar had returned to the crime scene to retrieve his goods hidden nearby!
Moral of the story for me - even a routine job can turn into an adrenalin-pumping situation with immense job satisfaction!
