Hazardous Material

When I took my job as a Community Constable, I inherited a 10-year-old file. Several of my predecessors had a crack at it with no luck. But it was one of those files that you just couldn’t give up on because the crimes were still being committed. It involved an offender who had been sending human faeces to staff at the New Zealand Herald in reaction to editorials that were published. I initiated a series of search warrants over a 12-month period and eventually got my man, who couldn't believe that the Police were still investigating him after all this time. The New Zealand Herald staff, and employees at the South Auckland Mail Centre, were very pleased to hear we’d got him.
