Better Work Stories

Criminal Mastermind

I was working covertly, buying drugs in a big city as part of an ongoing operation. I’d bought dope from this guy a number of times, and he knew me quite well. The guy got locked up at the end of the operation and was told he had been selling to a police officer. Regardless, he pleaded not guilty and we went to court for the trial. I saw him outside the court. I was dressed in a suit, had my great big A4 Police notebook under my arm and was walking with the Crown Prosecutor. I said, “Hey man, what’s up?” He said, “Bro, did they get you too?” I nearly wet myself, at which point his drug-infused brain finally put two and two together. He changed his plea. Catching baddies isn’t always that easy, but it is always fun.
