Underwear thief
Several years ago, before starting my afternoon shift I was jogging through residential streets a few blocks from the station when I saw a suspicious guy walking in and out of properties. I paused for a minute or two to see what he was up to. The guy suddenly popped out of a driveway about 20 metres from me, looking rather guilty.
I informed him that I was a Police officer, and the guy took off. After a short foot chase I tackled him. A passing motorist called the Police.
The guy was found to have his pockets stuffed full of women’s underwear pinched from several clotheslines. It turned out there were also several warrants for his arrest for failing to appear at court after being caught stealing women's underwear in the past. He went to jail for a couple of years for many offences relating to stealing underwear. It was an interesting way to start another day at the office.
