What I love about the job:
The variety that it offers, no one day is ever alike. Also, I enjoy the fact I'm not chained to a desk and I can get out and about. I enjoy driving around and seeing what's new and different. I like the feeling that I can have an impact on the community that I work in.
Hobbies:
Internet, motorcycles, TV, gardening, current affairs and travel.
Advice/tips for interested people:
Policing is a very wide and varied role. Some choose the CIB, some enjoy traffic but the common theme is that all require a desire to help those in need and to bring those that transgress to answer for their actions. It can be frustrating at times with many long hours, but you develop a sense of true teamwork and commitment. You can’t change the world in one day but you have the ability to change the world for one person at a time.
