No two days are the same.
Each day will present you with a new challenge. Whether it’s pursuing and capturing a wanted person, consoling a victim at a traumatic event, logging evidence at a crime scene or testifying in court, it’s all part of the job.
You will be required to resolve conflict, deal compassionately with victims and be culturally sensitive.
As part of the job you must be willing to:
- work a variety of shifts including weekends and night work rosters
- work in all weather conditions, and often in an uncomfortable social environment
- be treated with respect by the majority, and with hostility by others
- operate in an objective, rational and balanced way, regardless of circumstances
- be tolerant towards all types of people
- exhibit personal courage in potentially dangerous situations.
