Desktop Coach is an interactive computer-based tool designed to help people who are in the process of becoming a cop. It provides planning tools, access to additional resources and a forum you can use to chat with other potential recruits.

Access to Desktop Coach is offered to people who have attended a recruiting seminar and have been cleared to continue with the recruitment process. Some of the features offered by Desktop Coach are:

Calendar

This allows you to set tasks so you are able to work towards the various milestones you need to achieve in the recruitment process. You are able to add tasks, set target dates and add task notes.

Q&A

This is where you will find the answers to some of the most common questions that prospective recruits often ask. You can also submit your own questions to be answered by NZ Police staff.

Trainee Chat

You can talk to candidates from all over New Zealand about any aspect of the police or the police recruitment process. You can also chat with other recruits in your area to organise a training run or swim – or just to get to know other people who are facing the same challenges as you.
