Being accepted into the candidate pool is a significant milestone. It means you have successfully met all of the selection requirements and have the potential to train at the Royal NZ Police College (RNZPC).
Once you’ve reached the candidate pool you will be considered for selection to upcoming Royal NZ Police College wings.
How it works:
- The candidate pool is not a waiting list. The strongest candidates are always chosen according to the needs and priorities of the districts. The time it takes to get called up to college depends on your individual strengths and the constabulary recruitment requirements in your preferred districts.
- Approximately 3-4 months before the start date of each wing, police will call up a number of candidates from the candidate pool to go to college.
- We will look to place you into your preferred district but you may also be given the option to work in another district where recruits are needed most.
- Remember to keep up your training and fitness as it will help you prepare for the physical challenges at the RNZPC.
